The 9th Pan-African Congress, held from 8 to 12 December 2025 in Lomé, adopted historic decisions for the future of Pan-Africanism and coordination between Africa and its diaspora.
Coordination assigned to Togo
The Togolese Republic, as host country and co-organiser of the Congress, is entrusted with the task of coordinating the follow-up to the implementation of commitments and decisions, in collaboration with:
African Union Commission
African States
Nations hosting the diaspora
Diaspora institutions
Follow-up Committee
Establishment of a committee responsible for monitoring the implementation of the recommendations and decisions of the 9th Pan-African Congress.
Support for the institutionalisation of a Pan-African Day of Remembrance for deportees and victims of slavery and colonisation.
Invited to set the annual date:

Draft resolution to be submitted to the UN
Request made to the Togolese Republic to refer the matter to the United Nations General Assembly with a view to adopting a resolution on reparations and restitution.
Periodicity of the Pan-African Congress
Decision to organise a Pan-African Congress every five (05) years and to create a permanent office for the Pan-African Congress, the host country and/or institution of which will be determined after consultations between States and with the various stakeholders.

Formal transmission of the Declaration of the 9th Pan-African Congress to:
